Spurts of Sabedoria [Wisdom]
December 10, 2012
This week has been suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuper hard… and keeps getting harder. I sometimes have to say I hate agency... then I repent and remember it’s the only way to learn. Unfortunately, you have to just let people choose the wrong so they will learn to choose the right. Patience is the capacity to allow as much time as a person needs to repent and learn. I’m learning to love and loving to learn; but, mostly, I’m learning to love in order to learn.
Humbling experiences are the most painful but produce the fastest results. Então, vem logo! Sou forte! [So, coming soon! I am strong!] I’ve stopped pointing fingers and have started pointing up. Blaming solves nothing, but being humble resolves everything. Mom, keep the updates of those awesome women coming. [Every week, I tell her about even MORE mission calls for girls she knows.] I got the presents. I totally opened them without taking pictures because I was nasTAY dirty stinky, and we already reused the wrapping paper for Christmas gifts for Kelrem and Claudiomar. They’re our familyyyyyyy! They went to Vangela and Jackson’s wedding and LOVED it. Claudiomar is not a really deadset churchy guy, but Kelrem is Adventest of the Setimo Dia church. She doesn’t really practice it and has been having troubles with her special needs daughter. She needs God and change in her life, especially unity in the family because the two older teenagers—who are from the dad’s other marriage—are... well... being teenagers; and the two youngers are driving Kelrem bonkers. We gave them the CDs of the Children’s Songbook :) She’s really excited for them. On top of everything they have going on, he works and studies; AND they’re moving. HOWEVER, despite all that, Kelrem asked a ride from her neighbors, grabbed the kids without feeding them, and came late to church. What a woman of VALOR!!!! Bam baby! She was so stressed out, poor thing, but was super excited to learn about eternal families. Deisy went to church without her husband—who was agitated about something—and brought their 3 preteen and teen kids. They are very humbled about our willingness to help them in their financial need and help him get a job. The great thing about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is that it’s the only place where you can get all your needs met and the only place where salvation is free and guaranteed through your own preoccupation in following Jesus Christ. Yes, salvation is individual; but there is only one straight and narrow path that leads to salvation and eternal life, and it is through the application of the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ and HIS church. I don’t talk to people about MY church, no. I talk to people on the street about His church and how it truly is different from any other churches. Satan has been at it again. He has really agitated Beatriz, the mom of our only investigator with a baptismal date marked. She is quite an advocate of agency, and she thinks that coming over to get Andréa for church is not letting her use her agency. So… tell me… how can a 13-year-old go to church on her own without any support? Mom, how did you get anything out of church when you had to take care of 5 kids? (I’m asking on behalf of Kelrem.) |
