I DON'T WANNA DIE!!!

The Root Goes On
So, my “daughter,” Sister Carvalho, is a Leader Trainer. My “daughter,” Sister Romão, is training. My mini missionary “daughter,” Sister D’avila, put her missionary papers in!! And my “sister,” Sister Ribeiro, will train in the other mission. [The brand new Juiz de Fora mission was made from a section of the Rio mission.] Sister Ribeiro is from that HUGE Mormon family of 21 kids or so. She is my “sister” because she was trained by Sister DeOliveira. (I have to add here… I’m the favorite daughter, hehehe.) I LOVE my family tree.
Love love love.
To answer your questions, Mom: Sister Taylor is with the Juiz de Fora (“the new president” lol) along with Sister Ribeiro. And, Sister DeOliveira and Sister Soneghet both “died” [finished] and went home last week.
Cool Beans Factor
Faaaaaaact! Coolest fact ever and fact that shows that the world is really small: the boys with whom I will go home are from DANIELLE’S DISTRICT AT THE MTC. I would categorize that as COOL BEANS.
Others... It’s more like SAD beans factor, but whatevs: I’m the only Sister Lider Treinadora who will go home next. Sister Cidade, who will go home with me, is in Freguesia. A one-transfer sister in Freguesia? That NEVER happens. Happens in Anil: me :)

The Rodrigues This little firecracker, who talks really fast (but, thankfully, not as much as Sister Céspedes), is from Petrolina, Pernambuco. She apparently loves to eat costela [beef ribs] and bode [goat] and laughs like one, too! She has a freckle in her right eye, and she’s more humble than I am. She reminds me of me when I was 6 months old in the mission: timid and unsure when to teach by the Spirit because I think I’m going to ruin the whole lesson, hahahha. But leave it to me... she’ll get it in a transfer. She’s REALLY worried about leading this area after only one transfer. I explained to her that she should count her lucky stars that she doesn’t have to do this in CABO FRIO. [In Cabo Frio, Sister Nelson was over 7 cities.] Here, it’s just one main street that we predominantly work with. And, yes, I’m gonna teach her to teach the English class after I leave. Gift of Tongues, here we come! She isn’t even a whit worried about “killing” me. I think it’s because this week I re-sprained my ankle, was “booted” for 4 weeks, and I have a cold; but I will still go out in the misting, hot rain and work. Yes, I’m gonna work “até o pó!” [to the dust!] Sister Rodrigues is SUPER tidy (score!) and quite an angel when it comes to serving, almost as good as Sister Céspedes. |
Every Seed Has Its Time
You can count the number of seeds in an apple, but it’s impossible to count the number of apples in a seed. The blessing of missionary work is you will continually be renewed with the true stories of people who will grow because of your work. You can take the missionary out of the field, but you will never be able to take the field out of the missionary. And, boy, am I excited to keep planting seeds here!
Another investigator in Cabo Frio has grown and been watered by the blessing of baptism. I forgot her name, but we found her while she was going home and helped her with her grocery bags. She said she already received 2 copies of the Book of Mormon from friends of hers, and she received the elders a long time ago; but she never went to church. However, she likes the Book of Mormon and collects aaaaaaall of the religious books possible. Now she knows that she doesn’t need all the doctrine in the world; she just needs The True Doctrine. (Galatians 1)

Last Transfer
Last Monday, Sister Céspedes went with Sister Techmeier to the trainer’s meeting, and I stayed here with Sister Carréra. We ended up touring around super tiredly to visit some people that she wanted to despedir [say good-bye to?] and had 4 lessons. I love working with “dead” people, hahah. I can now say I spent a “last P-day” with someone. Sister Diller had spent it with her mom. AND now I can say I was a companion of every person I lived with. Know why? Sister Carréra lived with me in Campo Grande [same apartment, different companionship], and SISTER DA SILVA is in our zone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MY GRANDDAUGHTERRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!! I took Sister Carréra to the Transfer Bus Rodoviária... not gonna lie... I’m gonna miss that conglomeration of confused, excited missionaries. We waited with Sister DeOliveira while she was waiting for Sister Gordon. When she came, we went upstairs and had lunch with them. My dear friends, I never will forget the empty feeling I had sitting there. We had nothing to do; they didn’t even have a cell phone to be pestered by the worried elders. They weren’t thinking about their family night message they will give that night. Nothing. I hated it. HATED it! I didn’t feel part of the network of missionaries; I fell into the loophole of nothingness... and got really scared. I DON’T WANNA DIE! Sister Gordon entered into a bookshop, and I thought, “Books? Other than the scriptures? What a waste of time!” Hahahha! Sister DeO wanted us to stay there with her but didn’t do anything, didn’t tell stories, didn’t converse... I didn’t know what to think or say, but I KNEW what I should DO. I had to get outta there!! I DON’T WANNA DIE!!!!! |

Stephan is now Our Future Missionary. We’re going to “pegar firme” with all the teens here and call them to be Ward Missionaries because this week we had 12 lessons with recent converts alone. WHEW, what a responsibility to have SO MANY recent converts!
l made the black nametag. Notice the blue “celestial dot.” LOVE it!
