Can I Do That? YES!
So, I read some of Hermana Johnson’s letters and LOVE that girl even more than I thought I could. [Hermana Johnson is her cousin, who is serving in Las Vegas while she awaits her visa to Peru.] So, yes, I’m taking on her challenges.

Mom, put a post of Mormon.org here. Thanks.
http://mormon.org/church Dear Family and Friends, This website will change your life. It emanates the Spirit of the Lord and—even though you doubt—there really ARE good ways to use your time on the internet. This is one of them. |
Hermana Johnson asked what we will do for our Heavenly Dad this week for Father’s Day. Ya know what I did!?! I watched the baptism of RONALDO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do you know that he has known about the church since age 15... more or less 31 years. He married Rosana when she was less active, and he NEVER said he would get baptized. But ya know what got him? We asked him if he ever asked GOD if he should get baptized. He said no and didn’t “concorda” [agree] with the idea of bugging God for things if we haven’t done our part. We explained to him that his part is ASKING God and pondering and wanting to do the will of God. We promised him that if he asked, he would be answered.
And you know what???
He asked. And you know WHAT??? God answered. So much so that he couldn’t deny it. |
But his testimony isn’t about a dream or about reading a passage or about any of that. His answer came in tests of his faith. His answer came ONLY when he put his knees on the ground and asked about specific things. Rosana taught him well that the true church of God is tough to follow because we have to take up our cross and walk. She explained to him that God will prove his faith. He is an honest man, a hard-worker, and a FIRECRACKER. He was preaching to people the whole Sunday...
...until he entered into the frigid water (YES, the water heater is still broken). And you know WHATT??? He asked for a second dunk afterward. BAHAHAH! I love that man. I wanted SOOOOOOOOOO bad to hug him. Elder Mimary did that for me. Also, Rosana did that for me the first time he prayed in his house out loud on his knees. Can we make miracles happen? YES! How? Faith, which means works.

I’ll admit, I doubted that he would be baptized. The week before we passed by HOW many times every day; but he was working every time, swamped with a broken sewing machine, etc. But Sister Céspedes said, “I’m not even going to THINK about another day to mark with him. It’s now or never.” And, so, I girded up my loins, fasted, and PRAYED that he wouldn’t go ONE minute without thinking about baptism and about the church and about Rosana’s birthday and about eternal marriage. And ya know what? The Friday before his supposed date to be baptized, he said, “Ya know, if I tell ya, ya won’t believe me.” That’s a famous quote of his. “This WHOLE week, I haven’t gone one minute without thinking about the Church.” You know what I did? I started laughing! I got so red from trying to hold it in, they got worried! I laughed because I felt like a little DEVIL, praying for him to be possessed with the thought of being baptized. And it WORKED! IT WORKED!!!! Ladies and gentlemen, if we pray and ACT with faith, we can ask for ANYTHING, if it be just and worthy for God to grant to us. HOW COOOOOOOL IS THAT?!??!!
** I could die right now and be completely content. **
Did You Know? (At first, I wrote Did You Pray? You know what’s on my mind.)
Orem is the conjugation of orar, which means to pray. Orem is the plural 3rd person command form for pray. Thus we see that I command you all to pray. OREM! Okay?
TO BE CONTINUED… (WHY do I always run out of time??)
SO MUCH LOVE,
Sister Nelson
P.S. Natalie Martineau is going to Brother Sikahema’s mission!!!!!!!! Shout-out for Bro Sik. He so sick.
