Ward Council
A 3-hour Ward Council Meeting isn’t a missionary’s dream come true, especially when half of the time was
spent deciding the theme for the activity before Ward Conference. I don’t think I like the idea of trying to
put so many heads together. Luckily, Bishop rocks. He was CRACKIN’ me up! Every time someone would mention anOTHER idea, he would try to configure another theme that was short and had all the scriptures everyone mentioned. Every time he thought of something, he would stop everyone and say, “Oh, looky here, your brilliant bishopric thought of another wonderful theme. What do you think? I think we’ll patent it.”
When the sisters were talking about their recent convert, one member indicated (hint hint, nudge nudge, booty bump) to the service coordinator, who was almost sleeping. Bishop looked at Ebert, the service coordinator, who finally snapped out of it. Then Bishop did some volleyball motions and voiced, “Pah! Do-do… vap,” and tossed the imaginary volleyball in Ebert’s direction. He gets me EVERY time. |
Testimony Meeting
I have no clue HOW this always happens, but we always manage to scare away some random person who just happens to visit on the day of testimony meeting, hahaha. Gotta love it. I’ve taken upon me the role of “Laugher” when stupid, annoying things happen that give the missionaries problems. Our WML [Ward Mission Leader] blessed his baby today and afterward, of course, bore his testimony on having kids and said that EVERY vital couple who is able should have more kids. Ivan, a military man, happened to be sitting with Irmão Cruz, who always bears his testimony about the wonderfulness of being married to his wife and having an eternal family. Luckily, Ivan stayed for the baptism and felt good. All righty then, (rubs hands together). You’re next. ;) (Ivan is yet another young man of gold to add to the teaching group. I love scoring priesthood, marriage-worthy men for these wonderful women here.)
Scriptures of the week (As usual, please write out these scriptures please. Thanks, Marmy.)
Moroni 9:6 And now, my beloved son, notwithstanding their hardness, let us labor diligently; for if we should cease to labor, we should be brought under condemnation; for we have a labor to perform whilst in this tabernacle of clay, that we may conquer the enemy of all righteousness, and rest our souls in the kingdom of God.
D&C 58:27 Verily I say, men should be anxiously engaged in a good cause, and do many things of their own free will, and bring to pass much righteousness.
Acts 5:41 And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.
Being idle gets you nowhere. We are the FEW visible aids for those here on the earth. Someone shared in the Ward Council Meeting that the 1/3 children of God who followed Satan is a LOT compared to the small amount of children who live on the earth at a time. That is why this life is a time to PERFORM our labors. We are actors here, and there are more than 20,000 of Satan’s “angels” for every one of us here on earth. It’s a lot of pressure; so when you feel weighed down, don’t forget to pray to stay out of temptation. We can DO it. Let’s be the visible angels our brothers and sisters need here, now.
