Past the Point of No Return
Results. I almost forgot that I spent the “first transfer” of my mission in the MTC bawling my eyes out. And, thus, it’s the perfect parabola of emotions. This final transfer I have added to Rio with my tears. Tears of joy, frustration, pain, and craziness.
SINCE YOU’VE BEEN GOOOOONE
Shout-out to all who have ears: Let’s plan a get-together, so you can tell me what has happened SINCE I’VE BEEN GOOOOONE! OKAY! I LOVE YOU! BUH-BYE!
Do You Remember?
But do you remember it? I would love everyone to put a Save the Date on their calendar. Your dear, loved, Beethoven Symphony (Elise) is coming home. I have felt the pains of getting old, seen the adversities of poverty, felt the TRUE love of Christ, and, most importantly, come to know my Father in Heaven. For when I get to know His children, I get to know Him and His work and His glory. He takes pride in every good deed you do.
I will never forget the moment that (we’ll call her) Julia, after seeing her husband get baptized (which is a HUGE miracle worth a mission’s work), turned to me and with all the energies of her soul, said, “Please, don’t forget my son.” Her son has been “afastado” [distant] from God for a long time. This sacred moment has stuck in my mind so I may understand just how God thinks and feels. In the moments of greatest joy and when the miracles happen, He is ever so ready to start on the other. He doesn’t forget any lost sheep. He knows every face and characteristic; and although it’s easy for many of us to get lost in a crowd, He can pick us out. However, He asks us to do one thing: “Please, don’t forget my Son.” Using the Atonement of Jesus Christ doesn’t hurt Him as much as it hurts Him NOT to use the Atonement. Remembering Jesus Christ honors our Heavenly Father because they are one in purpose. So, please, “Don’t forget His Son.” That also means not to forget that YOU, TOO, are His and should act accordingly.
